Engagement Session When you hire a photographer for your wedding day it is always beneficial for both you and your photographer to include an engagement session. It is not easy to be in front of a camera having a professional photographer taking your photos.  During the engagement session both the couple and the photographer will get to know each other a little better.  You will get a sense of what to expect during your wedding day, how your photographer works and poses you and your partner.  In addition the couple will get a little more comfortable being in front of the camera.

Engagement photos can be used in various different ways.  You can put together a slide show to display at the reception, print a few large photos to display around the lobby or cocktail area, use the images for a guest sign-in book and use for Save the Date cards.

Having Fun during Engagement Shoot Engagement sessions are usually done 3 to 6 months before your wedding date.  Plan with your photographer a location for your session.  A nice personal location like a place where the proposal was made, your first date, first kiss, etc.. IF that is not possible there are many locations around that we can choose like the Jersey Shore, New York City, Liberty State Park, and many many more.

Remember, the engagement session is less formal and should be a fun experience.  Your cloths should match the season and location you are in. Wear what you love and feel comfortable in, when you are in the style you are confident in the better the photos will be.  Bold colors look great in photos so don't shy away from them. You can incorporate things that are meaningful to the both of you, for example include your pet.  The most important thing during your engagement shoot is - HAVE FUN!
